Richmond
I finally got my transfer in. I got moved to Richmond Station. On Days. So far the most excitement I’ve gotten has been a call where someone thought their child had been electrocuted, but it turned out that he just had a seizure. Otherwise, a “suspicious vehicle” with a loose tank of gas which turned out to be a motorized scooter that was chained to a pole. Wow. Seriously. There is nothing going on. Although one of the other guys on his first night (he got onto midnights) had a foot pursuit and 3 resistors. Wow. I can’t believe he got that. So far no arrests, no big citations, nothing. It’s gonna be an eventful 11 months.
Ramune is sick, but I am taking care of her. Mochi is here trying to take care of her too. Bastard child… ![]()
I got my R6. I decided to buy it new, so it’s an ‘08, black, and awesome. Just like the one that is pictured earlier here. Slipper clutch, fly by wire throttle, an exhaust that kicks ass…it’s fantastic!! The only changes I am looking forward to making are removing the passenger pegs, installing a rear seat cowl, removing all the turn signals and installing an integrated tail light in the back (duh) and flushies in the front. Mebbe some HID lights in the front with angel eyes or the demon eyes. I think that’s it. Yeah.

Movies movies
Between workin hard, stayin 2 nights in a row for 14 hour shifts…I have realized that I need to get out a bit more.
Monday: I rode to Laguna Seca for a preview of the MotoGP coming up. Basically the racers were testing the track, there were interviews, autographs, it was sweet! I could have taken the parade lap around the track, but I decided against it. I am still a bit nervous about doing that until I have a bit more experience in taking it faster (although I don’t think people were doing anything really fast that day)
Tuesday-Thursday: Work. 38 hours total, but tiring. Thursday night/Friday morning was interesting. There were a buttload of calls about gunfire. Some people say that they saw some kids running around. Some didn’t see anything. Some say that they heard 4-6 shots, others that they heard 20. But it kept happening all night. I was starting to think that either someone was fucking with us and setting off lots of fireworks over and over and over again, or that someone was goin nuts. Well on the last call, we found 5 cars had been shot, there were a bunch of bullet casings on both sides of the street. Running gun battle? Who knows.
Yesterday I saw “Wanted”. I liked it mostly…there was a moment where I just kinda lost it because of….well if you see it you will know. Remember Loooooooom of Faaaaaate…
Today is Wall-E. Woohoo.

Finished?
My last day of evaluation was yesterday. I ended it with 2 blue cards and an 11 page report. Not too shabby I would say. It was convoluted, it was long and arduous. Took me 3 hours to type it all up.
Now, I just have to wait for my FTO to finish up my last evaluation and my end of phase. THEN, and ONLY then, will I get my final blessing from the FTO Office. Oh snap.
It’s a bummer to have stuff still hanging over your head when you see the finish line and feel like you have already crossed through it.
I’ll give you the heads up when I find out. As it is, I’m still stoked.
I also celebrated my 35th birthday on wednesday. Got good BBQ, wine, 16 year old Bushmills, friends and some missing spots in time from where I can’t remember a thing. Sounds like I had a good time.
And as I finish this post up I have just been informed that I will be going to swings for now, until they figure out where I am gonna be transferred to. Sweeeet.

I feel like a kid again
I’m watching “Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom”. I remember when it came out in the theater. My mom dropped me off at the theater which is now the BevMo in Colma Center. Yes, I watched it by myself…but only because my brother wasn’t in town during that time. I had to convince her to let me go since it was rated PG-13, the first year that they did. I think it got rated that because of the guy pulling peoples hearts out with his hand.
Go Shortround!!!!

It saddens me sometimes when I think about what is allowed to happen in this world. The article says that they issue about 200 permits to residents so that they can kill a mountain lion. Mountain lions aren’t natural predators of humans. If they are going after your livestock and/or pets, that’s what they do. The residents know that these creatures live there. I would think you would just make it harder for them to get to the prey they want so that they feed on the stuff that’s hopefully readily available in the wild.
I understand that people get scared, but c’mon people!! We as human beings moved into what was originally a large ecosystem that did not include us! Now we are here, great. I like being a part of what this planet is. Not going in and changing it completely to suit our likes or to assuage our own fears.
I do plan on having some children someday, and I would hate for there to be no more of any particular animal, especially one that is well known, for my children to see.
